After what has been a difficult year for me 2017 is ending on a good note. My fitness is still an issue but work is interesting and the rest of my life is good too.
I just want to wish everyone who reads this blog the very best for the holidays and a fun and interesting 2018.
The new year’s approaches. Yesterday I was looking for a photo on my hard drive, and it took a while to find it. I have everything in nested folders, with different cameras, travel locations, etc.
It would be a huge job to move them around, and problematic for some of the Nikon RAWs with the same file name from different cameras.
Ideally, I’d like to leave things where they are and tag them. I know there is native tagging in Mac OS – but I wonder what the other options are?
You have mentioned Photo Mechanic but I get the idea it is really built to tag on import.

PM can add keywords better and faster than anything else I know but something like C1 Media Pro catalogues them really well too.

And to you Neil. Here’s to a better 2018. Raising a glass in your general direction from just down the road from you in a not so sunny Portsmouth.

Season’s Greetings to you too Neil.
Your blog is the most interesting, helpful and informative I have seen and your candid enthusiasm for your work is infectious.
I hope you are well on the road to recovery.
Keep up the good work and thanks for the regular tips and inspiration,
Iain
